Softball Hall of Fame

1985 Limestone High School Softball Team

Coached by Lou Dobrydnia, the Limestone Rockets spend the entire season ranked among the state’s best teams and validated the voting support by finishing second in the Class AA state tournament. The Rockets also won the Mid-Illini Conference championship.

Throughout the season, they posted 10 shutouts and allowed only one run seven times. Posting a 25-4 final record, each of their four losses came by either one or two runs, including the 2-0 defeat to Rock Island Alleman in the state championship game. Seven of the nine starting players went on to play college softball.
