Football Hall of Fame

Ed Sutter grew up with a football. The five-year National Football League veteran is part of a multi-talented football family that includes father Ken and brothers Ken Jr., and Dan.

Wherever he played, Ed Sutter was a standout -- at Richwoods High School, at Northwestern University and with five NFL teams.

A fierce linebacker, he made all-conference and all-state teams at Richwoods and was a second team prep all-American.

Moving on to Northwestern, where his brother Dan also was a standout linebacker, Ed Sutter led the Big Ten in tackles in 1990, was the second leading tackler in Northwestern history and was second team All-Big Ten. He was Northwestern's most valuable player in 1990 and 1992.

Signed as a free agent by the Minnesota Vikings in 1992, he eventually wound up with the Cleveland Browns and played in 15 games in 1993, and 16 in each of the next two seasons.

He appeared in 16 games with Baltimore in 1996 after the Browns became the Ravens and ended his career in 1997 with the Atlanta Falcons.
