Coached by Tom Bruna, the 1975 Princeville Princes capped a 9-0 regular season with a second-place finish in the IHSA Class 1A playoffs, dropping the championship game to Concord Triopia, 36-6.
The Princes averaged 42.8 points during the regular season, during which they did not yield a first-quarter touchdown until the ninth game. They won their third successive Blackhawk Conference title, then defeated Forrest-Strawn Wing (40-8), Stronghurst Southern (26-24) and Deer Creek-Mackinaw (26-3) in the playoffs to reach the title game.
Princeville finished 12-1 and quarterback Rob Butler completed 85 of 171 passes for 1,633 yards and 21 touchdowns. Tailbacks Dan Clark and Bill Allen combined to rush for more than 2,100 yards.
