Sergio McClain

The 1997 Illinois Mr. Basketball, Sergio McClain helped Peoria Manual High School to four consecutive IHSA Boys Basketball state championships during his prep career from 1993-97, including the No. 1 national ranking by USA Today in 1997. The fourpeat was the first in Illinois history. Sergio started every game of each postseason in his career — 32 in all; also a state record. He was named a McDonald’s All-American as a senior.

A three-time all-state selection, McClain continued his basketball career at Illinois, where he played in 128 games and helped the Illini to a pair of Big Ten Conference championships and the 2001 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight.
