1973 Princeville Football Team
Coached by Greater Peoria Sports Hall of Famer Tom Bruna, the 1973 Princeville High School Football team completed an undefeated season in the final year before the IHSA instituted the state playoff system. At 9-0 for the first time under Bruna, the 1973 Princes won the Blackhawk Conference title, clinching the championship with a 38-28 win against Wyoming High School. The Princes averaged 36.3 points per game and outscored their opponents by 23.0 points per game. Running back Alan Martin led the team with 2,014 yards rushing in the nine games (223.8 yards per game), including 274 yards and five touchdowns against Wyoming and 311 more yards in the season-ending, 34-20 win against Buda Western High School.
