After producing unbeaten seasons in 1945 and 1946, coach Walter Grebe's Farmington squad went 10-1 in 1947 and 8-1 in 1948 before returning to the unbeaten ranks in 1949.

Again Illio conference champions for the fourth straight season, the 1949 Farmers produced four shutouts and outscored its foes 239 to 59.

The sternest team faced by Farmington came at the end of the year when the annual season-ending game with Canton was won 18-14.
