This has already been a year of many awards for Richwoods High School senior Nora Lewis. Named the nation's top female high school basketball player by several publications last fall, Nora received the Dial High School Athlete/Scholar of the Year award last month in Washington, D.C.
She is the first girl in Illinois to receive all-state honors her freshman year and is a three-time all-conference and two-time all-state tournament selection. She was named a first team all-American as a junior and made all-conference in volleyball last fall after her first season playing the sport.
Nora holds five state tournament records, eight school records and has scored 2,297 points the past three seasons. She led her team to the Class AA state title in 1983 and to second place in 1984.
A good scholar as well as an outstanding athlete, Nora will have her choice of colleges. She carries a 3.4 grade-point average and plans a pre-med major.
