Inductees Ken Hinrichs produced his fourth perfect record team in 1962 when a team he has called “my best ever” swept through a nine game schedule unbeaten.
The team socred 368 points, the most for a Hinrichs’ team in his long Manual career and allowed 77.
“This was the highest scoring team I ever had,” recalls Hinrichs. “I would like to have had the chance to coach it in the state playoffs.”
Manual placed seven players on a 23-man all-conference team.
Selected to the first team all-conference were end Harold Montville, tackle Gary White, guards Henry Faulkner and Edgar Hinton, center Ted Arndt, quarterback Billy Albritton and halfback Jim Thomson.
End Bud Grimm, tackle Virgil Whitaker and fullback Tom Green were accorded special mention while halfback Gene Jackson rated honorable mention.
