TriCounty Bradley’s first berth in a women’s postseason basketball tournament was a long time coming.
The program got its start in 1975-76. Under Paula Buscher, the seventh head coach in BU women’s basketball history, the Braves finally reached the postseason last March when they appeared in the inaugural Women’s Basketball Invitational.
Bradley won at 2009 NCAA runner-up Louisville in the first round, then lost at the College of Charleston in the quarterfinals to finish 17-14 overall.
The Braves made their case for a postseason berth with a third-place tie in the Missouri Valley. The conference finish was the highest in Buscher’s first 10 seasons at BU.
2001 Tri-County Male Athlete of the Year MATT SAVOIE This Bradley University junior has established himself as a world-class figure skater.
