The Washington High School wrestling coach was named Illinois Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the year after his team sent a school record six wrestlers to the IHSA state finals, where two won state championships, two others finished runner-up and another finished third. The Panthers advanced to the state dual Elite-8 for the first time in program history.
| 2007 Tri-County Male Athlete of the Year JOHN EHRGOTT A former professional, Ehrgott won the Illinois State Mid-Amateur and the Illinois Publinx championships, in addition to his sixth Peoria Park District Stroke Play championship. He also placed second in the Illinois State Amateur and finished 13th out of 305 competitors at the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship in Oregon. |  |
