Inductees Stowell has spent his entire athletic life in Peoria.
Freshman and assistant coach at Bradley under Orsborn, Stowell, who played on some of Bradley's finest teams during his undergraduate days, became head coach for the 1965-66 season when Orsborn left the bench to succeed the late John Meinen as athletic director.
And Stowell remained as Bradley's basketball coach for 13 seasons, longer than anybody except Robertson, posting 197 wins (second only to the 312 of Robertson) while losing 147 for a .572 winning percentage.
Stowell's first team, paced by Joe Allen, Eddie Jackson, Ron Martin and Ernie Thompson, posted a 20-6 record and the Braves went 17-9 and 19-9 the next two seasons with Allen, L.C. Bowen, Al Smith and Bob Swigris leading the way.
Allen, Bradley's fifth all-time scorer, and also a member of the Greater Peoria Hall of Fame, played his entire brilliant career under Stowell.
Stowell was succeeded by Dick Versace after the 1977-78 season and later coached Bradley women's basketball team for two seasons.
Stowell has been one of the country's most active coaches working overseas, conducting clinics in Central America including two trips to Mexico, to Venezuela, Columbia, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina in South America; to Spain, Belgium, Luxemburg and France in Europe as well as to China, Japan, Taiwan, the Phillipines, Egypt and Turkey. He was an assistant coach for the 1984 Egyptian Olympic team.

For forty-one years, Bert Sanders has been promoting and volunteering at sporting and outdoor events in the Peoria area. An enthusiastic individual in the community, he has been foremost at the front in many aspects of area sporting events. Bert has actively been a hands-on person. Peoria Journal Star sports writer, Jack Ehresman said, "With the help of Bert, Don Wolland and the Isaac Walton Legion, they started what was called National Hunting and Fishing Days." This involved thirty-two outdoor clubs. Bert and Don served for 3 years (1971-1974) as co-chairmen of the event.
