The Washington High School wrestling coach was named Illinois Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the year after his team sent a school record six wrestlers to the IHSA state finals, where two won state championships, two others finished runner-up and another finished third.  The Panthers advanced to the state dual Elite-8 for the first time in program history.
